I have an affinity for black cats, especially after I learned that they are often the last of the litter to get adopted.

My black cat’s name is Courtly.
She’s a rescue cat. I knew the moment I saw her that she was my cat, and I was her person!
Courtly is named after the iconic black check pattern, Courtly Check from the MacKenzie-Childs hand-painted pottery collection. Appropriately named, she’s as whimsical as the brand’s home decor.
In a time where we can use a welcome distraction from today’s headlines of uncertainty and overwhelm, I thought it’d be fitting to share a lucky charm by way of black kitties. Cats, in general, are such a delight to have, hold and observe. In my opinion, black cats are double the pleasure with their majestic and elegant grace.
